Johnny Appleseed's legend lives on, updated by Jimmy...
I'm Jim Simpson, and when I was a child my grandparent's home had apple, cherry, plum and other fruit trees and grapes, and those trees & vines were difficult to manage. Now, I'm here to plant and help you manage organic fruit trees in your own yard or patio, affordably for less than the cost of store bought! HERE's more than 20 additional reasons for an apple tree.
Back in the old days, Johnny spread seeds from apples that were not as varied in flavor and quality as the apple trees we can provide for you today. And, instead of maintaining an orchard or having to learn the expertise to do the work, we do it all for you, from delivery and planting, to pruning, pest control, disease inspection and management and more! As a matter of fact apple trees can be grown in a pot instead of a hole being dug, which we include in our offering at no additional charge. Click HERE for information about how to manage a potted apple tree.
Children love apples and we believe in helping parents, day care centers, schools or churches... any organization who works with children, to have affordable, if not free, access to 'all things apple', including trees planted or potted on site wherever children are present about apples. Call or contact us if you are a place where children could benefit from learning or growing or eating or sharing apples. For information about apples suitable for pre-school to 3rd grade, click HERE and for grades 4-6, click HERE. or HERE for a coloring book.
Does an apple a day really keep the doctor away? All we know is that the studies and statistics prove apples provide nutrition, energy, healthy snackage and are affordable and preferable to almost every other snack alternative...
Get your own tree or more than one! We Warranty ALL our trees (under our service care agreement) to grow and produce fruit during their specific season ...hundreds of apples with the highest quality, healthiest & easily accessible fresh fruit! (See Details)
This years demand is strong as a result of consumer fears of grocery store fruit supplies combined with a desire to be more self sufficient, and as our season begins now, here's what is still available after a month of fulfilling orders.
Strong sales of 5 in 1 and 4 in 1 trees of substantive size have left us wanting more. Smaller 4 in 1 and 3 in 1 trees are still available, but contact us for current inventories.
In any event, here's a list of single variety trees available to our customers, delivered/planted or potted!
APPLE - Gala, Red Delicious (6', 8', Semi-Dwarf), Pink Lady, Liberty, McIntosh, Golden Delicious, Urban Tasty, Lodi Heirloom Semi-Dwarf, Yellow Delicious, Tangy Green Urban, Sundance.
OTHER - Regina Cherry, Rynbrandt Cherry Dwarf, Italian Prune Plum, and Keiffer, Moonglow and Comice Pear trees as well as July Elberta and Redhaven Peach (dwarf) trees. Also, we have (larger than advertised) Vanessa, Concord seedless and Marquis seedless white grape pots.
We recommend apple trees as ideal for beginners because they’re robust, hearty to successfully plant and easily maintained in a variety of environments. In fact, they’re known as the starter fruit tree. Plus, because your apple tree already boasts several years of growth by the time it is planted on your property, you’ll be able to reap the benefits of healthful fruit during the very first year. From small, large, potted and every type in between, we have what you're looking for to thrive on fresh, local, organicly grown (using our Orchard Manager Packages (c)) .
You can't eat your lawn, so plant something you can eat. When? Spring is the best time to plant your outdoor apple or other fruit tree, and then manage its growth all the way to production.
Where? We can help you choose a location with full sun and dig a well-draining soil, in a hole - or even a patio pot - large enough to accommodate the entire root ball.
How? If you’re planting multiple apple trees, we'll space the locations, dig and then place your tree in a hole big enough to accommodate the entire root system, pack the root system correctly and leave you a watering schedule. If you want us to handle more, just ask us.
Because we’ve grafted your tree from a specific mother variety, you can expect consistency and ease for the life of the tree. Basically, it will produce the same delicious fruit, season after season.
It’s simple – we follow the five "P's for Trees"
FIRST the Planting: We'll do that for you.
AFTER planting or potting your tree you can manage it all OR, we can provide ongoing services or year round via our Orchard Manager Option which covers...
Given averages produced in the past from our standard mature trees, you can expect to get approximately 20 boxes of apples that weigh up to 42 pounds each – per tree. Let's get financial for just a moment. Based upon local prices advertised for organic apples (see above) you could end up with from $1,400 to $2,700 worth of apples – per tree, depending on the variety of your tree. Further, your apples will keep anywhere from 2 to 3 weeks to 3 to 6 months. If you're unable to use them, they can be preserved by canning or dehydrating. And, organic apples make a perfect, and valuable, gift suggestion.
